The Anantasamakhom Throne Hall is a former reception hall within The Dusit Palace in Bangkok. It now serves as a museum and is from time to time employed for state occasions.MLS scope of work was for lighting design in the exhibition space on the ground and second floors. Exhibited items included quilts, paintings, copper, silver, gold and jeweled beetle wing artworks, which are all sensitive to heat and UV hence 99% of the lights in the project selected were LEDs. The other lights systems selected were fiber optics which do not emit any heat to the artworks. MLS worked closely with artists, to understand the focus and background of each artwork so that each exhibited items could be hi-lighted effectively. The color of each art piece varied due to the various materials: from wood, silk, jewel beetle wing, copper, silver and gold. Therefore, RGB + White LEDs Luminaires were selected for the project.
