Geotechnical Engineer, Executive - Senior Level

Responsibilities:

  • Design of piles, spreading foundations, pile caps, mat foundation, retaining walls, soil retaining systems, slope stabilisation.
  • Estimate soil subsidence induced by filling and/or excavation works and loaded foundation.
  • Prepare soil investigation programme and interpret geotechnical design parameters from soil investigation report.
  • Assess seismic soil classification and liquefaction potential.
  • Calculate load bearing capacity of shallow and deep foundations.
  • Design pile layout for isolated pile cap and pile supported mat foundation using SAFE software considering of pile group effect/efficiency.
  • Design 4 types of soil retention systems (gravity/semi gravity retaining wall, diaphragm wall, sheet pile wall and contiguous bored pile wall).
  • Prepare sequences of the basement construction steps.
  • Prepare and specify instrumentation and monitoring system as well as review and comment on monitoring data for the deep excavation work.
  • Assess stability of soil cut/fill slope/embankment, and excavation works.
  • Design and prepare detailing of reinforcement foundations and earth retaining structures.
  • Prepare Hand Sketch and Drawing.
  • Prepare technical report, calculation report, geotechnical interpretive report and design criteria report for submission as required.
  • Coordinating with structural/civil/MEP engineers, admins, and draftspersons to ensure that deliverables are consistent and meet client requirements.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years (for senior level) or 13 years (for executive level) of working experience in design of foundation, deep excavation and slope stabilisation in relation to building works.
  • Proficient in analysis and design with computer software such as Plaxis, SAFE, GeoSlope and SlopeW.
  • Good spoken and written English.
